Summary

If one commited an assault with a bowie knife, the punishment was to be doubled.

Statutory Text

ART. 493. If any person shall assault another with intent to murder, he shall be punished by confinrment in the Penitentiary, not less than two years, nor more than seven years. If the assault be made with a Bowie knife, or dagger, the punishment shall be doubled.
