Summary

Prohibited concealed carry of dirks, pistols, bowie knives, and other deadly weapons. There was an exception for travelers. Open carry of these weapons was allowed, but open carry was also prohibited when it was carried with the intent or avowed purpose of injuring another person.

Statutory Text

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of State of Indiana, That every person not being a traveler, who shall wear or carry any dirk, pistol, bowie-knife, dagger, sword in cane, or any other dangerous or deadly weapon concealed, or who shall carry or wear any such weapon openly, with the intent or avowed purpose of injuring his fellow man, shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in any sum not exceeding five hundred dollars.
