Statutory Text

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That it shall not be lawful for any Sheriff or Tax-Collector to collect from any tax payer the tax heretofore or hereafter assessed upon any bowie-knife, sword caine, or dirk knife, and that hereafter the owner of any bowie knife, sword cane or dirk knife shall not be required to give in to the tax assesors either of the aforesaid articles as taxable propoerty, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

SEC: 2 Be it further enacted. That this act be in force and take effect from and after its passage.
