Summary

New Haven prohibited selling arms to individuals below the age of 16 without parental consent. Limited the hours of gunpowder transport.

Statutory Text

SEC. 14. No person shall transport any gunpowder through said City at any other time than between sunrise and sunset, and only in accordance with such rules and regulations as may be established by the Fire Marshal; provided, however, that this section shall not be construed to affect in any way the section immediatley next preceding.

SEC. 15. No person shall, within the limits of said City, place, receive or have any gunpowder on any steamboat or railroad car used for the carriage of passengers or freight.

SEC. 18. No person shall sell to any child under the age of sixteen years, without the written consent of the parent or guardian of such child, any cartridge or fixed ammunition of which any fulminate is a component part, or any gun, pistol or other mechanical contrivance arranged for the explosion of cartridge, or of any fulminate.
